What ever happened to FM radio? Do I have to tell you? Let's face it, we live in an era of FM radio wasteland.  Media consolidation and monopolization over the past two decades has resulted in "manufactured consent" among their listeners, the "bewildered herd". And here in Pool 10, we are spoonfed country music and "pay for play" commercial rock from one end of the dial to the other. Commercial radio around here SUCKS.

There is a song by a group that calls itself 'Flunk', and the name of the song is 'I love music'. The lyrics to this song sum up our mission.

Music... Music... Ever since I can remember, I've always loved music.
You know, I didn't know anything about these titles
until I started dealing with people like you - the media.
And they started givin' it names...  Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz
There's only two kinds of music. Good and bad. I love music. Music

We could not agree more. Two kinds of music. Good and bad. Our mission is to play the GOOD music. We like to call it music that doesn't suck.

Critical Facts of Great Importance:

We try to be on the air every day from 7:25am sharp until the transmitter turns off at 1:50am. Sometimes we forget to turn on the transmitter. Some days we get lazy. Sometimes we go off the air for maintenance or because things are screwed up. Sometimes we go off the air because we don't want lightning to blow everything up.  You get the idea. We have managed to stay on the air since sometime in May 2004. Our range is small. We hope someday to crank up the power, but this is a double edge sword. You see, we want to stay on the air, and more power might be a detriment to this goal. Plus the electric bill is high enough already. Who knows what the future holds. Enjoy today.

Ironically, when it comes to radio, the only true pirates are those that are the media conglomerates, those that unabashedly raid the pockets and profit from their listeners, rather than the hobbyists. Indeed, commercially oriented broadcasting, with its jaundiced eye ever on the almighty dollar, relegates programming to a considerable inconvenience: consistently force-feeding boring, repetitive playlists down the throats of their ultimate sponsors: their listeners. Anymore, the bottom line in commercial radio is the bottom line, and entertainment is merely a by-product, if there is any at all.
